Resident Registration and CMPA Reimbursement

If you are a postgraduate resident affiliated with Dalhousie University, you are entitled to 100% reimbursement of any Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) fees that you have paid.

Resident Registration

In order to receive reimbursement, you are required to complete and submit (one time only) the Resident Application Form. As noted on the application form, please include a void cheque or confirmation of banking/direct deposit form.

Once your form has been processed, MSI will provide you with a unique MSI provider number which is to be used when submitting your receipts for reimbursement. You should receive your MSI provider number within one to two weeks of submitting your application.

If your address or banking information changes during your residency, please remember to notify MSI by submitting the Resident Profile Update Form.

CMPA Fees Reimbursement Process

Please complete and submit the applicable CMPA Fees Reimbursement form(s) below with supporting receipts to be reimbursed for your 2020, 2021, 2022 and/or 2023 CMPA Fees. Please note that a receipt from CMPA acknowledging your payment is required. A copy of a bank statement and/or your CMPA invoice is not sufficient.

Your submission needs to be received by the cut-off date noted below to ensure you are paid on the associated payment date. For example, if your submission (completed form and receipt) is received by February 1, 2024, you will receive payment via electronic deposit on February 21, 2024.
